Harry Kane hailed Tottenham’s 5-0 victory over Red Star Belgrade as the ‘perfect response’ to their recent slump and challenged his team to following it up with revenge over Liverpool.
The England striker netted his 200th and 201st goals for Tottenham and England as he helped Spurs to a much-needed win in the Champions League.
It ends a run of several dreadful matches for the north London side, who were humiliated in a 7-2 defeat to Bayern Munich in their previous European outing.

Next up are Premier League leaders Liverpool on Sunday, in a repeat of last season’s European Cup final in Madrid – a game they appear to have struggled to recover from and perhaps a big reason behind their poor start to the new season.
And although there is no silverware on offer this time, the Anfield clash presents an opportunity for redemption, and Kane is keen for Spurs to bounce back with another victory.
“I think the whole club needed that, the fans needed that,” the England captain told talkSPORT.

“The performance was great, five goals and a clean sheet, a lot of energy. It was the perfect response to a tough time.
“But we’ve got to carry it on. We’ve got another massive game on Sunday and hopefully we can get a result and really kick on.
“Now it’s about not getting carried away, take the positives and pick up a good result on Sunday.

“In any top game in any top competition there are fine margins between winning and losing and we probably haven’t got the rub of the green this season for one reason or another, but that’s part of the game and we have to overcome that.
“Performances like this definitely help, but it’s about the next one now and hopefully we can get another win and build a bit of momentum.”Listen to talkSPORT’s post-match interview with Harry Kane IN FULL above
